Okay to be frank, Chapter 37 was pointless and didn't really give or do much to further the plot along. And I'm sorry, but Nora and Gregory's breakup? You're telling me they've been yearning for one another FOR YEARS and just like that, they're done? Please.

I just knew Hal was too good to be true.

Listen. I know Hal is the obvious, safe choice but idk man. I'm still hoping Collin proves me wrong???? Or!!!! Having them become mortal enemies would honestly make such a good impact to the overall story. I also just realized THIS ISNT A STAND ALONE. So, fck me.

It's giving The Handmaid's Tale meets..... Divergent? I'm only 3 chapters in, so not enough to give an honest answer on whether this will be worth my limited reading time. But the dialogue is much better already than the last fantasy/romance I started. So that's a big plus.

Really really really emotionally invested in this space rock and it shouldn't be surprising to me when I remember I had a pet rock in 4th grade.

There's more time spent describing the marroweels and what it's like to do anything at all in gray dresses and skirts than there is convincing banter between our "enemies to lovers". At this point I'm kind of getting bored.

There could be so much more tension right now between Odessa and The Gaurdian if she would vocalize her internal thoughts about him but instead she gives us meek retorts and apologies.

Lmao, Natalie's mom is a HOOT.

I just don't like anyone in this book.

Okay so I think my struggle with most Romantasy these days, is that the dialogue between characters can feel either too modern for the world/assumed time period they're in or, it feels childish to some degree. Especially if the characters are aged up.

Anywho, so far its not bad enough to make me stop reading but I do have my limits.

I wasn't sure I was going to include this in my Currently Reading bc tbh, romantasy hasn't been hitting the mark for me as of late and I was using this as a "filler read" while waiting for my little one to fall asleep during nap time. BUT THENNNNNN that little mic drop moment happened at the end of Chapter 3 and I am now suddenly invested in the drama that is about to unfold.

Good lord (no pun intended), this is just the most delicious book I've read in a WHILE.
