Toll the Hounds is heartbreaking, profound, and utterly unforgettable. The world-building is flawless, the characters deeply human, and the emotional weight immense. A perfect book in an already incredible series.

Engaging and witty, Dead Lions shows off Herron’s sharp writing and character work. Personalities shine (or don’t, in the case of Lamb and Taverner), and it’s clear why the TV adaptation works so well. The casting is incredible—the characters on screen feel exactly as they do on the page.
