I’ve had to suspend my beliefs a bit when it comes to some of the unrealistic points of this story, but I’m beginning to like it.

Oh boy, I think I’m going to have to suspend my beliefs a bit for this one. The author makes it a point to constantly point out that the female characters (the pretty ones, anyway) are wearing not just ANY kind of shoe, but DESIGNER shoes! Also, you can apparently take breaks in the middle of a hand to do blow in the bathroom in casinos in this world - all while working security for said casino!

If I could enter the gif of Nene painting and rolling her eyes, I would. That said, it is getting a little better after the predictable and cliché “plot twist,” because but of course there is an obvious reason as to why the protagonist is super special!

The protagonist is so childish and sad that I’m rooting for Rosie, who I think we’re supposed to be against b/c she is marrying Vesper’s ex-boyfriend. Normally I would think that’s a shitty thing to do, especially to your cousin & best friend, but Vesper is so insufferable that I’m glad he escaped and is marrying Rosie. Also, I thought this was supposed to be a horror novel?
