If you like travel shows or history shows or BOTH this is the book for you. Though I wish he would stay a little more on topic at times, I really don’t care about the various foreigners you saw, and didn’t even interact with, on the train.

Really enjoying this *relatively* unbiased overview of the ancient peoples of the Middle East, southern Europe, and Northern Africa. Audiobooks is great, but I look forward to getting a physical copy

Did she seriously just state a characters ethnicity for the first time over halfway through the book??? Girl, be so for real.

Hannah keeps correcting people saying Lucy is committing extortion not blackmail, but she’s wrong. What Lucy is doing is the very definition of blackmail, not extortion:

Enjoying the book so far, but Eva’s mother is insufferable. I suppose I can’t really predict how I would act and react if I were in the same situation, but she has no common sense and continually takes her anger out on Eva while blaming and accusing her of things that are not her fault at all and pushing her agenda which would put them in far more danger.

Literally a few pages ago mc’s mom and Mc talk about the uncle taking care of little sister, but now she brings up bedtime and Mc didn’t know little sister was staying?

I love Natalie, but I have to say at this point I’m feeling a bit skeptical about a book about 12 year olds?

I’m only a few pages in and am liking it, however the repeated use of “twinsies” is going to drive me up a wall

Issue: British author writing American characters but there are often very British phrasing that sneak in. More prominent in this book than the first

Ok I’m almost 40% through this book and nothing has happened. It’s been just high school drama. Other than mentioning decade old murders that I assume will come into play later there’s no indication that this is a thriller at all. It’s boring and hard to stick with.
