I loved the concept of it and found the police corruption, the homelessness juxtaposed with the wealthy really interesting. I also thought the ‘Kingdom’ storyline fascinating. I think I would have preferred to read a history book just about the Kingdom rather than this mystery. I found the all characters a bit confusing as many of them are not well developed.

Listened to the audiobook and enjoyed. Not like typical angst-y, irresponsible parenting YA! Great characters and interesting adventure

This book reminded me of Memoirs of Geisha but thru the lens of Korea. It was pretty heartbreaking in an epic sort of way and I was pleased to learn a bit more about Korean history.

Def recommend for fans of historical fiction and/ or learning about other cultures

I liked the first book a lot more. It was an interesting way to move the story forward.... but it was a bit too long.

That being said - its an insightful commentary on social media influence.
