Everyone who does not know the history of our Reconstruction period after the Civil War, as I didn’t, should read this book.
We acted no differently than the Germans during WW11. During Reconstruction some of us preyed on an ignorant and vulnerable minority, and a lot more of us ignored what was going on, even with indisputable evidence, for generations and decades of black torture, abuse, and humiliation.
