Oh my god this is so long
I didn’t expect Hugo to say “cloaca” at all but he has said it more than a dozen times lmao

How Hugo writes about love is amazing. Really enjoying this book.

It’s like a better version of A Little Life because you still have the dynamic characters you want to take care of but without the trauma porn

Alright this is starting to get more difficult to understand, I might need to go to SparkNotes or something for some assistance

Whenever I see a giant old book I think it’s going to be difficult and inaccessible but this is pretty fast paced and easy to understand!

This feels like an allegory to disabled children and how they are perceived by society but then they become more or less “normal” within like a month. I can’t decide if I love this viewing of “different” kids as equals or if I hate them being a spectacle. It is giving House on a Cerulean Sea if it were written by Lemony Snickett. But with the same social blindness of the former.

The author talks about feet too much for her to not be into feet

Adult men popping up naked out of nowhere talking to lying girls, calling them special and saying they need to keep it a secret that they see him, is creepy as fuck dude
Also then they get married so that just feels like grooming
I’m only 13% of the way through the book so hopefully it gets less creepy

Finished the first two books, onto The Horse and His Boy

Much less boring than it was, still debating if I want to finish the series or not

It’s a good thing I’m listening to this on 1.75x speed because if I had to listen to this for 50 hours and not for just 28 I would have DNFed this days ago
The only reason I’m holding on is because I’m pretty close to being done. I have been bored for 18 hours

I am intrigued

Why didn’t I read this sooner? I love this book. I love everything about this book. I want to never stop reading this book. This has easily become one of my favorite books of all time. I can’t wait to finish it but I never want it to end!
