The Starless Sea is a triumph that I am sad to know I’ll be finished reading all too soon. Ms Morgenstern is a gift to literature and I’m so filled with joy that I am fortunate to exist and enjoy her work while she is creating it.

gave up reading. just can’t handle a whole book of puns. they are like chocolate chips. they make most cookies better, but you still need the dough to make the chocolate chips seem special.

DNF. Sadly the puns were just too much. Can’t wait to read something else she’s written soon. (I love so much of her other work!)

I have never realized how easily a woman can move from knowing the right from wrong of life, to becoming the most disgusting villain - all in the attempt to keep control over her life. & her view of her hometown. A perfectly planned, regulated little village. I'd pair her in a similar light to the most insidious female villain I can think of-Delores Umbridge. (This book is not in any way similar to any HP book).
