i am fully enthralled in this book. i’m quite picky with reading battle scenes. sometimes they’re just so methodical that i end up skimming them. HOWEVER i am fully sat down and immersed in these battles. idk what it is but robin hobb has it figured out

Stremmel is the embodiment of the aloof and angry on the outside but deeply besotted on the inside trope. Sarah’s pov is all how annoying Stremmel is and Stremmel’s pov is all “how do i keep Sarah forever”

i will admit that i am currently reading this because i loved the show and feel absolutely scandalised that i didn't know this series existed. i just know it will be becoming my personality for the forseeable future. i mean it literally has everything i look for: found family, humour, thrill, fantasy. i mean how could i not be enjoying this?

his “get the girl back” strategy is to harass her until she hears him out?? she is genuinely so much better off without him

i feel like it’s a bad thing if i’m actively rooting for the two of them to stay broken up. because i’m actively rooting for them to make this third act break up permanent

both of them are insufferable but i refuse to give in. i will finish this book if it kills me
