How many times will the word "pity" be used in this book? 😂

I have forgotten how difficult it is to read Dunnett’s books. The sheet amount of names! And then sometimes she would call them by their titles or some metaphors she has made for them earlier in the book and my mind simply doesn’t have that much capacity… 😅

Is there going to be a main plot to this book? Or has it already appeared and I just haven't noticed? 😅

Turns out, being obsessed with a movie made 38 years ago can make me do impossible things like picking up a nonfiction books about the U.S. Navy.

With Dark Heir fresh in my mind, I can't help comparing Darien and Will and then end up kind of hating Jennifer...

I’ve missed Wimsey. My disarmingly charming, ridiculous, intelligent British man.

I'm hooked by the plot & worldbuilding. But the FMC is seriously testing me. This is the kind of YA protagonists where, if people tell her to not do something, she would immediately and intentionally do the thing, then bad things will happen, she will blame everyone but herself. I hope character growth will happen some time soon.

This is much darker than I expected. I never read anything this dark when I was actually in middle grade...
