Kari Yergin is starting Lore Olympus: Volume One (Lore Olympus, #1)
I barely finished it. Just not for me. I’m beginning to get that I’m apparently much more verbal than visual because I’m not always good at following storylines that are moved forward with illustrations. Plus it just felt childish. I generally love mythology and specifically Demeter but … nah. Not this time.

Kari Yergin is starting Babel
Not for me. As much as I love reading and thinking about words and where they came from, I only got a third of the way through this 22 hour audible. I’m done.

I actually was really drawn in by some of this and marked lots of places but never finished it. Maybe I should try it again in the summer?

Kari Yergin is on page 116 of 208 of The Nesting Place: It Doesn't Have to Be Perfect to Be Beautiful
Much of the beauty that arises in art comes from the struggle and artist wages with his limited medium. Henri Matisse. Lovely Limitations are springboards to creative solutions. Start enjoying exactly where you are. Take risks (make plenty of nail holes!) Done is better than perfect. See the beauty in imperfections and stop apologizing.

Kari Yergin is 50% done with The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao
This is feeling like a chore, especially once the author started describing Oscar's mom's life. Plus, all the Spanish word and phrases, only some of which I'm able to decipher. I'm giving it up.

I started listening to this on a play away by found it to be a pain. I kept making it skip around. It is really making me think and I'm enjoying it so much more than I thought I would!

Kari Yergin is on page 200 of 336 of Baby Catcher: Chronicles of a Modern Midwife
It's taking me forever to make my way through this book (what else is new?) but it's so easy to pick up and put down after reading just one or a two little vignettes in the life of this midwife. I just read the best one yet, "What FlowersAre These?" about a Christian Scientist who comes to her office.

Kari Yergin is on page 109 of 251 of Tenth of December
Saunders hooked me with the very first story, letting me in the head of 3 very real-feeling characters. I don't read a lot of short stories and forgot how fun it is to be plopped down in the middle of an already unfolding drama without all the extra verbiage. What a refreshing change from the book I just gave up on!
