I'm not reading this in Danish -- the translation is not popping up. A Conspiracy of Faith, a detective novel.

I will never finish this extraordinary book. It will stay on my bedside table. I can't read more than a paragraph or two at a time--then I have to think. Excellent.

Out of all the books I borrowed yesterday, this was the one I wanted to read most. It's like a Harlequin Romance novel, but instead of sex you get battle scenes (10th century "England"). Enjoying it as I knew I would.

The author is an extremely knowledgeable pompous twit, a common combination that makes for sometimes difficult reading (putting up with). But I shall continue.

You can tell, in just a page, if a book is worth reading. This one is, thankfully. We are in Alexandria, with Euclid and Ptolomy ... I can't wait to read what happens!

First story in this collection: great. Second story: breathtaking. On to the third.

Lately I've stopped reading, having finished all Dickens for the umpteenth time. I picked up this book because it was pink. Now I'm thinking about going back and reducing all previously 5-starred books to 4 stars so when I give this one 5 stars, it means something.

Um. As a long-term melancholic, I've found a lot of support in this small book, but really, he goes on too long. Hope I can finish.

So far I am loving the description of northern Sweden. It's bitter cold and dark almost all the time. Northern lights every day.

Just started, got the sample off Amazon, and was swept away to Sweden once again. Got out my map, relaxed in the knowledge that Kurt Wallender will solve the case. Enjoying.

I like books that need to to keep Wikipedia and several maps open while you read.

I like the way this is written, in old fashioned prose. Think I'll keep reading.

Every day a little more, slow going but can't quit now.

This is a long book! Still enjoying, still using Wikipedia to tell me who's who.

Fortunately I'm also watching The Monarchy series and have my netbook open to keep track of who's who and all the relationships. So far, fun reading.

I'm having a little trouble with gender issues. The women seem too simple (good/young/beautiful or bad/ugly/old).
