This is by far one of best, mindset changing books I've ever read besides the Bible and Mere Christianity. Completely changed my preservative on life as a whole, especially in light of the evil and suffering in the world. I couldn't recommend this book enough, although it isn't exactly light reading, Yansey is pretty good at talking through complex issues in a well thought out, conversational way. Psuedo academic.

To paraphrase a significant point in the book, people usually see pain and suffering as the biggest flaw in the grand design, but after reading this book, you begin to see it as God's greatest tool, instrument, teacher in our life. It doesn't necessarily make thing less painful, but it offers encouragement and hope. We are clay, but there is a Potter.
