Cindie is reading Odd Partners: An Anthology
Sometimes reading these short stories helps me choose a new author to explore. Sadly, not this time.

Cindie is reading Death Comes To Kurland Hall (Kurland St. Mary Mystery, #3)
GoodReads you have failed me again. I have read this installment before, it was so foggy in my brain that I was unsure enough of who was the murderer that I read it again anyway. Sigh

Enlightening. I am grateful that my trauma has not left me in the same experience. I respect and admire her.

Cindie is reading Death in the Dark Woods (Monster Hunter, #2)
The deep dark secrets in the lives of the characters make this very interesting and the ending is unexpected. I want another one!!!

Cindie is reading Midnight on the River Grey (Regency Mysteries, #2)
I am not much of a romantic and struggle with much of Rebecca’s actions. She is portrayed as often impulsive and sometimes even just stupid. I just wanted it to end. No more!!!

Cindie is reading The Way of All Flesh (Raven, Fisher, and Simpson, #1)
Interesting initial effort by the veteran author and his wife. It seemed a bit slow at first, however, I like the strength of Sarah and she may be the reason I read another in this series.

Cindie is reading Hangman Blind (Abbess of Meaux, #1)
A very quick read. I am not as familiar with this era and feel a bit lost. This is based more on the religious dilemmas in England during 1382s. Not something I am that aware of, need to be more versed on the Avignon influence of the time.

Cindie is reading Edinburgh Dusk (Ian Hamilton Mysteries #2)
Excellent. Although sometimes Ian does some foolish things, he has a good heart and is able to figure things out. I wish characters would stop wool gathering (walking without paying attention to their surroundings) when it is known that a murder is watching them. Seriously!

Cindie is reading The Sleeping Partner (Sarah Tolerance, #3)
Sarah is mostly intelligent in her actions. Except when she goes to confront a man that may be the killer. I suppose it was due to her brain injury. However it was uncharacteristic of her and gave me pause. Overall a good story and I enjoyed it

Cindie is reading Mrs. Jeffries Turns the Tide (Mrs. Jeffries, #31)
This is a good mindless romp. Not historically accurate and I ended up speeding up the audiobook. Kept thinking, get to the point, as endearing as Mrs Jeffries and the characters are. I will not choose the audio version. Can’t skip the long drawn out unneeded destails.

Not a fan of the weak female even one that is smart scientifically. Not reading the next one. On to a new series.

Cindie is reading Down a Dark River (Inspector Corravan #1)
Decent first start. Basic character development, a sad statement on the treatment of women. And of classism. The bitter reality of servants in the Victorian era

Cindie is reading Sin Is the New Love (Sin, #1)
I read the author’s other series and thought I could hAndle this book. It is very different. It is dark and riveting. I wonder how much of the lives of those living in India really mirror Ahi’s life. Is there no safe place? Are women second case or worse? Non entities? A very difficult yet riveting read.

Cindie is reading Instruments of Darkness (Crowther and Westerman, #1)
I had to skip part of this book. Could not handle the deliberate poisoning of a dog. It was unnecessary and I could not stomach it. There was also the leap that Harriet made to figure out what happened with Hugh’s Father was too unbelievable. I was not comfortable with the graphic violence. Not ready to read this series. Maybe later

Cindie is reading A Coyote's in the House
As a pet lover, this book was hard to read. I knew coyotes ate cats and dogs but the reality seems harsh. Overall I liked the characters and the plot, yet still struggled with the reality of Antwan’s life.
