Globally speaking, Christianity is not even close to a white man's religion. And historically, people of all classes, races, men and women came to it not as a tool of oppression but as a means of liberation.
In my own experience of urban canada, Christianity is less of a white man's religion than it is embraced by immigrant communities.

Listening slowly...some profound thoughts so far:
- trying to contextualize Christ's commands amounts to legalism. It's not about the act or concept, but plain trust and obedience
- Christ calls us to come & die
- no direct relationships between us and anyone/anything - all are thru the Mediator, and for His sake

Picking this up again, as this topic is so relevant in our times.
