This is a wonderful story, truly. I think I understand why I don’t enjoy most mainstream/big publisher YA today, it’s not well written. The mcs trying to save the day either have deus ex machina, after deus ex machina or they’re miraculously “good” w/o explanation, or establishing why in a natural way that makes sense to the story.

I don’t approve patient/provider relationships, but I kind of hope she finds a happy ending with this man...

Her misandry is going to do her in if she’s not careful.

There’s part of me that hopes the mother and the sister will end up rotting in a jail cell together... How dare the mom pass the credit off for that cake. 😤

I really don’t like the mother or her sister. They’re each self serving in their own special way. I feel bad for the mc, she doesn’t realize or understand neither is capable of actually caring for her or her wellbeing. ☹️
