Really struggling with this. I don't know if it's the translation or just the story but there's just no life about this. I'm interested enough to finish but barely.

Elaine is 70% done with Funny Girl
This started off well but the eponymous "Funny Girl" soon gets relegated to background character so Nick Hornby can tell the story he actually seems to have wanted to tell. Disappointing to say the least. Not sure I'm going to bother finishing.

A thoughtful, gentle novella that radiates kindness and friendship. I know some people have found it quite sad but I actually just found it beautiful. It's a contented sigh of a novel.
