Had no idea I was reading queer poly vampire smut when I picked it up, but fuck, it’s too late to turn back now :( I’ve heard too much…

This book feels like one of those romance video games with no gameplay. Even though the romance isn’t the primary plot point! It just so happens that every character the female protagonist comes across is a total stud who finds her bewilderingly attractive. You even have all the usual archetypes of a romance game. The childhood friend, the prince, the wealthy noble. Kinda silly.

Holy FUCK dude the development of these characters is INCREDIBLE. Just finished the scene where Elend and Vin crash the party of the besieged city, and wow. So impressive what Sanderson has done with these characters in only the course of 3 books. Love it.

Tolkien certainly knows how to write a battle. And even more so, the build up to one, and yet, even more so, the aftermath. Again, Tolkien has blown me away. Looking forward to the last half. “Shadowfax (my reading skills) shall show them (my friends) the meaning of haste (finishing this book)!”

The movie improved on all the action scenes like the battle of helms deep, the storming of Isengard immensely. All the same, the book is incredible. Love how Aragorn proclaims himself the true heir of Isildur proudly and often. Love the relationships between all of the fellowship. 10/10 so far, now for Frodo and Sam’s journey.
