Roseann is on page 91 of 400 of The Book of Mychal: The Surprising Life and Heroic Death of Father Mychal Judge
Took about a month break from the book because I have seemed to have read quite derogatory opinions or ideas by the author. This book is not an autobiography and I try to stay away from biographies. They are very opinionated but I have seemed to finally pass the page that I had a difficult time. This author seems to be very anti religious and only cares for what he thinks is true not at everyone else thinks is true.

In all those whom they served they were to see the Person of Jesus Christ himself. What they did to those others -- even the weakest and the lowest -- they were to remember that they did it to Our Lord himself, according to his own words: "Truly, I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me." (Mt 25:40) (page 51)

The Eucharist is the infinite good. For in the sacrament is Jesus himself, as much present as he was in his home at Nazareth or in the Upper Room at Jerusalem. (page 49)

I absolutely love how the discuss in topic in The Biased Pagan-Christian Connection: 1. Coincidence does not prove casual connection, and similarity does not prove dependence, 2. Describing pagan rituals in Christian verbiage is misleading and careless and leads to faulty conclusions.
3. The dates do not add up
and so on (pages 164-168)

Christians of the New Testament era were already worshipping on Sunday, or the "Lord's day", as it is described in Revelation. (page 159)

The real issue is, not similarity, but of dissimilarity -- recognizing that the differences between Christianity and pagan mystery religions are far greater than any similarities. (page 154)

Saint Pius X, especially, has set out vividly the doctrine of the universal mediation of Mary and of her spiritual Maternity in his beautiful Encyclical Ad Diem Illum, which is substantially but a transposition of Saint Louis-Marie de Montfort's book of the True Devotion. (page 344)

Clement of Alexandria speaks of Christ driving his chariot across the sky like the sun-god . . . Tertullian says that many pagans imagined the Christians worshipped the sun because they met on Sundays and prayed towards the East. (page 139)

Jesus made it known on more than one occasion that he had not come to establish an earthly kingdom or to overthrow the local Roman government. His kingdom was not of this world, and he came to conquer sin and death, not governments and emperors (page 105)

And so, imitating her, thanking her tenderly, rejoicing and sorrowing with her, giving her what Dante calls 'the long study and the great love,' bringing some thought of her into every prayer and work and act of the spiritual life, forgetting itself and its own resources to depend on her; the soul of the legionary becomes so filled with the image and thought of her that the two souls are but one soul.

a very inspiring book to get your lazy but moving, stop reminiscing, stop looking at the past, and move forward. Could help those who are unemployed, who are stuck and unsure about what they want to do in life, and to stop sulking in themselves. We live for others. And this book helps us see the future.
