This book is intense, especially after recently finishing The Stand. The stories are raw and expose human behavior, human frailty, in a way that just hurts right now. It already has 5 stars from me, but I’m going to pause and read something else for a bit.

After a week, and 44% read, I’m throwing in the towel on this one. I love a vampire story as much as the next person, but I can’t figure out what’s going on here. There’s a vampire thread of a story that’s pretty good, but there’s also lots and lots of exposition that I can’t sort through anymore to hang on to the thread. I’ve tried skipping it. But at that point, well, what’s the point? DNF 44%
