A FASCINATING idea.. but the structure of the story just cant hold my attention...

Its the same problem i have with Azimov - big ideas with poor character-work... There is not enough of the characters to grab my interest. (Some of that may be inherent to the plot, but nevertheless....)

I wanted more Bee in this one... But still great.

Off to a good start...
The names and events of book 1 were hazy, but the start of this has been a "recover from aftermath, explaining to stranger" type story.. Interesting, and a refresher of who is who.

Better! I enjoyed this - but most everyone dies which was sad...

No where near as "scary" as I remember as a kid . But still some fantastic ideas.

I think this was my first real "horror book" back in the day.... Decided to give it a re-read to see how it feels

I think i've know all this before.
Its almost like a "western version of buddhism".. there is a lot of overlap in the "mental discipline" and goals..

it does have a "lecturing" tone, as that is essentially what it is.
