Sooo I like Kingfisher, and this was a pretty good book. However, It was kind of the same as The Hollow Kind just a bit better. The amount of time Sam used on being “rational” was a bit much for me. Anyway, thanks for the story!

This was a great short horror. I’ll have to read more of his!

Was already in the middle of a book, but this one grabbed me. As soon as I read the premise I went “Oh, this must have been the inspiration for The Hollow Places by Kingfisher.” I love the author but that particular book? Meh. Now let’s read the original! Onward!

Saw this on someone’s feed I follow and went “Hell Yes!” Even the first sentences of the book are great “I was about to die. Worse, I was about to die with bastards.” Onward!

I loved this book. I had a good time. Definitely Victorian in writing but not so bad as Henry James 👀 thanks for the ride!

She clasped her hands and looked upward, as if in a momentary transport of celestial gratitude, but immediately returned with a theatrical monologue.

This series is not my cup of tea. I still love Butler’s prose and characters but the whole alien DNA reproducing is a bit much for me.

Yeah I would not be able to be in a relationship with someone without touching them. -shudders- the Oankali ask too much.

I chewed through the first book, and did not find the story as satisfying as Butler’s other books. I don’t care for the genre most of the time. Her prose and characters still interest me and I am continuing the second book dispute my dislike. This is where I separated from Le Guin, in that her story was interesting but prose too dry for me. We’ll see how they do on Earth. Onward!

This book took a few wild turns. I really enjoyed the beginning and then it sort of teetered into a strange direction with the plants talking. It was interesting, but I don’t know that I will continue the series. We’ll see, Pax, we’ll see!

Ugh I think it’s near criminal to teach a whole generation that what they think doesn’t matter. You have 25-30 year olds that can’t think for themselves and feel like they have no say in their own community.
