Trying this again!! The tone is slower, like Circe, so I'm having trouble getting into it, but I have to because this exactly the kind of book that could turn out being my favourite. Also, Loki. ❤️

Lol I can't with this book! The female MC is as dumb as a rock and she's supposed to be somehow badass and a PI nonetheless. Let me laugh. It literally took her until chapter 19 of this book to figure out what the reader knew by the end of the first book. I'm halfway through and a whole lot of nothing has happened. Even the smut is boring. Ugh.

I'm not sure I can finish this book. Juliette's inner monologue is insufferable and I just want to see into literally any other character's thoughts than Juliette's or Adam's. I'm simultaneously enraged and exhausted.

The fat shaming is just beyond horrid, but I have to admit I listen to this solely for Stephen Fry's interpretation.

I'm finally starting to understand the plot a little bit. I still get confused who is who and the point of the book, but it's progress.

Sounds like white middle-class feminism 101. So far I would only recommend this to white guys who've never approached the subject of feminism before.

I knew this wasn't going to be the best book of the ages, but wow do I find the main character annoying. It seems that things happen *to* her and she's completely passive in her own life. No decisions, no honest conversations. Just her, going with flow, and complaining about men. I really hope it picks up, but I have a hard time motivating myself to listen to the rest of the book.

How can the writing still be so bad. The characters are kissing each other's hands in the middle of a fucking battle where they're close to dying. I'm so frustrated. I want to rage quit this book, but I'm too pedantic to leave a trilogy before the end. How people are rating these books so high is beyond me. 😩
