"An effective plan of action has four pillars: exemplarity; coordination; defensive measures; and sanctions against free riders."

Kind of wish I had this as an e-book so I could highlight factoids.

Mentioning Chiara Cordelli:
"Her claim, rather, is that citizens of a democracy are collectively responsible for what their society foreseeably and persistently allows; that they have a special duty toward those it systematically fails; and that this burden falls most heavily on those most amply rewarded by the same, ultimately arbitrary set of arrangements."

Not my cup of tea so far. Rather slow and predictable.

So far it consists heavily of review content. The author reiterates past events often. Like, the origin of Whinney, Racer, Wolf, their spears, fire starters, Rydag, and the Clan. In fact, the entire 1st novel was summarized. Still enjoying it very much. Comforting to know I could have waited a few years to read this novel but I couldn't wait!

He went quite off topic but he's getting back on track. I think it was to keep a pulse for non-science readers. I don't care what his hotel room was like or the scenery on the train. For this book, I want to know about DNA USA.
