This is just starting to get interesting…

I’m not a big fan of the writing style either because it feels uninspired. There are so many interesting things that could have been done with the novella but in my opinion, this is nothing special or unique

Also, this is boring because it’s just a recounting of events. Nothing too exciting to see here.

Everything is mentioned so briefly that you can’t have a connection to anything and I would probably have liked this more if it had more on Grim’s past and personal experiences rather than just him being obsessed with Isla. It’s getting annoying to read at this point

So far, this book kind of feels superficial and redundant. There was no need for this novel because all of this was inferred from Isla’s perspective in Lightlark. Also, I don’t feel any connection to Grim at all. In fact, I liked him more in Skyshade and I didn’t like that book at all. So like, these could have been alternate chapters in Skyshade instead of a whole novella.

I can’t remember the last time I hated a fictional character this much after Umbridge in Harry Potter but how talented an author you must be to evoke such sharp emotions in a person
