A little reading before bed...

Discovered by accident while browsing a web site's sales, this is already turning into the sort of story I've been looking for: simple premise, characters that are described just enough to make them interesting, world-building through conversation, and a map on the inside cover. :) (Seriously, I love when I can flip to the front and see where the hero is.)

Haven’t updated in a while. I love this book, but I have to take it in chunks. It’s far more graphic than I normally read, but that enhances the experience, rather than detracts from it.

Gruesome. Bloody. Dark. Yet, I’m gripped by the realism of the characters’ actions and motivations. It’s also part 1 of a 2 book series and, as folks know about me, that’s a major plus in my opinion. (Too much fantasy has become basically serialized, with no true conclusion but the reader’s own apathy.)
