The writing is just impeccable. I'm still drawn in right away, even on a reread. There is basically no exposition: you're right there, in the world, with all its worldbuilding, and it just feels so natural.

I know it's called "How to Survive Camping" but I really wish it wasn't written like a How To, lol. So far, it's coming off like I've got thick cottonmouth. Dry and matter of fact. I don't mind so much that the staff are all used to monsters, but it'd be nice if there was a bit more emotion. I feel like it's miles away, and I'm not getting sucked in by much at all.
