Short but heavy. Very insightful view of an early Church father's impression of Moses the prophet, priest, lawgiver, and king. This work helped me understand both the Torah and it's foundation much better.

Early historian recognized the law of Moses was different from other laws that governed worldly nation. No other laws emanated from God. These laws uniquely adapt to any society or culture on Earth. What men write comes from within. Surely Moses was endowed with special insight.

We eat the Lord's Supper to remember His sacrifice. We fast to focus on His return. Both activities should be forms of worship. Both should draw us to prayer.

Great premise. Fasting is less about abstaining from something evil than choosing to pursue something better. Fasting says I prefer the giver over the gift, as much as I am drawn to the gift.
