Idk. I mean they definitely are uninterested in each other romantically right now. So that's a plus and away from cliche. But idk. Let's see. There's lots left

You really have to accept that old books were written differently and there was a different standard to them. Now certain things would be considered bad if it was in modern books, but u just have to accept it.
Why is there 5 pages of straight dialogue. I mean they are talking philosophy, so it's not completely useless. But still omg

This is a comedy

I really like this book, but it is soo difficult to read. As in to find the motivation for it, it is so slow. Whenever I do read it, I am delighted. But I have been trying to read this book for like a year 😭

Rin can be soo judgmental, and like sometimes she really cannot see beyond herself

Lol. So books like these always have a love interest, so I've been trying to figure out who it may be. Though maybe Altan, well lol he just slapped her, so that's probably not going to happen. Maybe there won't be any romance at all 🤞

There are so many names, I cannot keep track

I can't ignore how she says I'm so alone, and then isolates herself from the one person that showed her kindness without hesitation throughout her life, Jumpin. But then she feels lonely so she gets a boyfriend, and that boyfriend leaves, and she again is like, everyone leaves me.

And then later she is like, if it was a different time she would have hugged Jumpin. But she can't cause he's black. She is a recluse??!

Just drones on and on. I feel like there are so many metaphors and without context, so I have to keep track of the metaphors that I will understand later in the book. The issue is there are so many that I cannot keep track.
Also idk I'm just sick of romance, like why does it need to be centered in everything. But that's a personal thing I guess.

Ok, I hate Levana. But like I kinda understand and sympathize with her for her hatred of mirrors and whatnot. I think it's a larger reflection of society that's putting such a big emphasis on beauty. And she is kinda totally right to hide away, because she would be unjustly ridiculed and disrespected. Kinda dislike Cinder for saying she looks ugly after seeing her. She saw the burn marks and that's all she said?
