It’s an election year and as the crazy ramps up the more I start reading nerdy fantasy books to disconnect. We can do this.

Post pandemic - endemic depression rocks the world. So far so good! If I had read this in 2021 I would have jumped off a building.

Malfoy’s would have loved Trump.

Can I finish it before 2024. At a New Year’s party…

I’m a sucker for a multi perspective novel that spans centuries. This is shaping up to be one of my favorite reads of 2023 - just in time.

I guess I’m starting the next book of the Fourth Wing dragon smut series. Wish me luck.

Saved this one to finish on a Halloween!

This one just came out so I feel very lucky considering I just finished the first book. These are “true crime” meta fiction and this one might even work better than the first.

Great book but I wanted more from the ending. The format was so good that I’m rolling into the sequel and hoping for a better finish!

Only spooky books in October 👻 This one is true crime (horror?) meta-fiction written from the perspective of a journalist investigating murders in his home town. So far so good!

I think this might be my favorite books series. This is a light hearted British elderly murder mystery but it’s also brilliant and the characters are fantastic. This one might have been my favorite. I sort of hate that characters are nearing death because I wish Osman would write these forever.

Favorite read of the year by a mile!

I don’t want to jinx it but so far this is giving T&T&T. I can’t put it down.

This book scratched my Dark Matter itch. It’s like a beach read Blake Crouch and I’m not mad about it.

Totally reading this because of its cover art.

This series is heavy and the last book came out a few years ago. I had to watch several videos and read a lot of wiki’s to get caught up and understand what the hell is going on. But so far it’s great!

I’m listening to this book and it’s an audio diary recorded on the main characters son’s iPhone. It’s also British and takes place in 2019, but since I’m listening when he says the time at the beginning of each entry that it wasn’t the date (example 19:15). So for the first few chapters I thought this was about time travel. Back on track.
