Wowee, I love most of the characters in this book so much, Vice, Knigh, Perry, Saba, and Barnacle, to name a few...but I'd forgotten about Bricus and Fitzroy's involvement in everything, and what two-faced p****s they are. But that's okay, because I'm sure Vice, Knigh, and the rest of the crew are going to serve up their revenge in the best way possible in the next book, Against Dark Tides, and I can't wait!

*This was a re-read of Across Dark Seas (Beneath Black Sails book 0.5) in the lead up to the release of Against Dark Tides (BBS book 2)*

First time, I gave 4.5 stars on account of how I felt Evered, in particular, was built up so much by Vice in Beneath Black Sails (BBS book 1), which I had read first (oops!).

This time, a solid 5 stars, as I felt more connected to the characters, and loved how the story evolved.

I'm so excited for the next book in this series, Against Dark Tides, that I thought I better re-introduce myself to Lady Vice's story, starting the right was around this time, with Across Dark Seas.

While this book may be touted as a novella, it's a full-length, prequel story about how Lady Avice, an aristocratic heiress, became Lady Vice, the notorious pirate queen. Well worth the read!
