This is my second attempt to follow the narrative. McCarthy's pros are top notch.

This has been very emotional.

A very comfy comedy. Makes me forget about the whole apocalypse happening outside my window.

I wish my copy had a glossary.

aw gee... this is very descriptive.

I was expecting a scary story, but instead I got a lot of nonsense. The first hundred pages consisted of wacky and goofy antics, from a cast of drastically eccentric characters. All of which is consistent with the setting. However, It was an overwhelming amount of shenanigans for me. I was considering putting the book down until, around page one-hundred, a tenable story began to appear.

These are very fun, short stories.

I look forward to seeing the movie.

The joys and follies of youth.

Spicy teen drama. Exceedingly morbid with paranormal occult hazards. I was worried I accidentally bought a 'young adult' novel until around page forty-fifty then it starts getting too crazy and interesting. I would of lost my mind reading this when I was an edgy teen.

I can't stay awake while reading. Excellent!

Oh my goodness gracious. Why I have never, in all my years as a teacher, ever read such a vulgar and deeply relatable work of literature.

I really liked 'Adjustment Day'. That book felt almost prophetic, seeming to predict the Jan 6 inserection. This book is entertaining enough, I just don't enjoy Hollywood and film industry stories. The story feels similar to 'Invisible Monsters'. Characters driven by unusual circumstances toward catastrophic ends. The Cuck Palahniuk charm and humor makes it a fun and quick read .

It would be an incredible experience to have read this before the movie came out in 1971-1974. Luckily the movie and pop-culture hasn't removed all the mystery from the novel, and there's plenty of horror, adjacent to the main plot, that's unique to this novel.
