I haven’t read in so so long but i picked up my copy of this book at a Dymocks when i was out shopping and it’s been sitting on my bookshelf for a few months. I’m enjoying it - it feels intimate, like the reader is letting me in on a secret as he reminisces about navigating his sexuality and early relationships. Romance is my favourite. This books feels natural and easy to read.

So heartbreaking. I feel silly for complaining about my own life and being upset when war exists.

My favourite part is Tariq and Laila’s love story. I wish I could read about it more.

It’s been so long since I’ve read a book. The last book i attempted to read was Crying in H-Mart which I got in Leeds. I don’t have the heart to finish that one since I haven’t gotten over exchange ending - and I don’t like it that much. This book is so good though. I would keep reading it but I should go to bed. It truly is heartbreaking.

This one’s going to hurt. When i was buying it at the Waterstones the worker told me to have tissues ready. I’ve only started it but it’s definitely relatable. Having been away from home for the past three months adds some kick too.

I feel like i don’t truly understand the chapters about grief but i like how this book portrays loss optimistically. A broken heart is an open heart.

I don’t really find myself interested in the sections about romantic love, which are mainly about marriages and long term relationships. The parts about friendship (philia) catch my eye and i think about my past friendships as i read them. Overall, reading this book makes me feel human. It seems obvious but my experiences are universally shared. I’m not alone and i can learn from others’ stories.

I really enjoy this book - shown by the tens of sticky tabs lining paragraphs that I will return to when i finish reading. It reflects a lot of the thoughts I’ve been having about my own relationships and is helping me view love in a more varied way. The different perspectives are interesting and familiar.

I feel like this book reminds me so much of my own life. I haven’t been through nearly as much trauma as Jude, Harold, etc but i feel like there’s something connecting my own experiences and everyone elses’. I’m coping better with the difficult themes then i expected but this is a traumatic read. It worth it though, it’s beautiful.

I’m getting too sleepy to read a lot at a time but it’s good. It’s getting sad though. I feel bad for JB because of his drug problems and Jude not being able to forgive him. I also relate to Jude’s fears of intimacy and a relationship, and how he describes his rotting flesh. I hope things get better for the four of them but i think it will only get worse. I don’t think this book is good for my mental health

I feel like i know the characters so intamately, especially Jude.

Im scared of finishing this book because i know it’s sad. I just want Jude to be happy.

Really good. The writing is incredible and I’ve left sticky notes with my favourite phrases/paragraphs. The characters are complex and very well-written, with carefully considered backstories and personalities. The perfect book to get me reading again.

Really interesting. I want to get to know Esther better and also what came to be of the other characters. The writing style is very good too. I’ve made highlights along the way of lines that stuck out to me and there are many. I’m definitely nowhere near as depressed as Esther.

It's very interesting. At the moment, I believe that Malcom truly knows the killer.

I should've read the blurb before buying this…

I'm pretty surprised; I never would have suspected Beverly of anything related to Eric.

I don't know what to think.
