J’ai acheté le Tome 3 à noel sans remarquer qu’il s’agissait d’une série. Je suis donc bien obligée de commencer par le tome 1. J’ai l’impression de l’avoir déjà lu. Le récit manque de punch, de dynamique et les personnages sont vu de l’extérieur, de loin. C’est peut-être lié à la traduction, à voir.

Started 3 other books which are unfinished while waiting for the paper version of this one. What a difference ! The translation in the digital version ruined the experience, I had to stop. This paper version translated by Caroline Bouet is wonderfull, the story is now interesting, emotiinal and thought provoquing. A translator can make or break a book. (Same happened to me from book 6 of A song of Ice and Fire).

Passant la journée dans l’avion aujourd’hui avec 4 vols differents, je me demande si c’est le bon jour pour lire ce livre....mais je n’arrive pas à le poser pour en lire momentanément un autre.

Not sure this is right book to read when taking 4 diffent flights in the next 24 hours...but I czn’t put it down!

Pausing it. The sentences are short and somehow, it prevents me from being drawn in, I can't hold my attention for long enough before it already moves on to another sentence. I like the descriptions though.

Le papier est de qualité mais je n'arrive plus à lire sur du papier si je ne lis pas dehors en plein jour, le contraste n'est pas suffisant. Résultat, je n'avance pas bien vite.

Audio book. I lack time to listen for audio books and listening is slower than reading.

Loosing interest, feels too much like being told a story. I feel no connexion with the protagonists and some are not convincing.

What a wonderful story and lovely writing ! I can't put it down.

Too much unescessary text and an apparent total lack of knowledge of ecological issues makes me want to put it aside and forget about this book but their amazing lack of anticipation (ex. buying a broken down caravan and waiting for the first day of snow before checking if it works after living in it for 4 months!) and puzzling motives keep me going back for more.
