eve babitz’s writing just makes me fall in love with LA all over again

guys should i hang up the journalist thing and go be a professional treasure hunter chime off in the comments

crying at the author renaming wadmalaw island to “ladmadaw” like wow how long did it take you to come up with that one

vocab in this is so repetitive like the author has used the word “skimpy” to describe specifically pajama shorts maybe four times already…..girl get that thesaurus out !!!

every character in this has the most insane backstory like to the point that it’s almost laughable

a romance novel heroine named india everybody clapped everybody cheered !!!!!

hate when im reading something and can just tell the author thinks he’s a grade-a genius

okay so imagine how scared i was when i saw one of the main characters in this book is named “India McCray”…….that’s a little too close for comfort……
