Really enjoyable read... best press Prince Harry could ever get

Really enjoying the character figure out her experience, and the author’s sense of owning your body and locale.

Comprehensive, thorough… use as your intro then read deeper on points of history.

The parallels of the early Soviets desperately distorting science to fit their ideology will be familiar to anyone whose encountered Creationists, Anti-Vaxxers, Flat Earthers, Transphobes,… only they succeeded in having sway over millions of lives.

The writing is lilting and descriptive, the dialog lively and rapid.

So glad I picked this up!

It’s Nick, so I love it. But it really is fun, and the choice of photos to provide an atmosphere helps nicely..

This book is a densely, well written crafted homage to ‘Heart Of Darkness’ and ‘Moby Dick.’

It’s also utterly miserable to read.

Interesting to note that right around the time the US was moving towards it’s Constitution, and the enshrinement of Black slavery, Ireland… which had benefitted from the trade, was finally waking up to how bad it was.

Depressing and detailed by a reporter who really lived through so much of what he writes.

I don't recall hearing of the Lodi explosion.

Also... the similarities between the Trumps and the Sacklers are uncanny.

Pre-Dunkirk ... ‘German forces already had sustained major losses in the so-called campaign in the west: 27,074 soldiers dead, 111,034 more wounded, and another 18,384 missing—a blow to the German public, who had been led to expect a brief, tidy war.’

This should be shared more. The image of the invulnerable Wermacht shouldn’t be bolstere more than necessary.

Less... ‘Oh, my god, shocking!’ than summation of a lot of the thinking on polarization and summing it up.

In otherwords, it’s great reading.

Nice fusion of the old ‘Rogue’ & ‘Wraith Squadron ‘ books. Starts a little slow, picks up nicely.

This continues to be a clear and deeply disturbing book. A must read.

This is a really clear headed, thoughtful book on conspiracy theory and theorists metastasizing in the Trump Era. So far, so thoughtful.
