Objectively, it sounds like Mildred grew up in a patriarchal family surrounded by toxic masculinity and, despite that (or maybe because of it?) refuses to conform to feminine beauty standards. I don’t like how that is portrayed as a negative character trait.

It seems to me that many of these characters behave rather stupidly

Points for the description of Diego as “the weak ass friend who always wears a hat”
Minus points for all these boys who are like “how dare the girl that I’ve been nothing but mean to not like me 😡”
