Finished Part 1 and what an intense ride so far! Each chapter of this book would make for a gritty crime drama on its own! Zaidi's prose does justice to the sprawling epic history of the Mumbai mafia. It ties the line between formal and sensationalist storytelling. I can't help but imagine Scorsese-like montages set in the harbours and the streets of Dongri.
