Just finished the third story of five. Interesting stuff, although I picked the twist.

Bought this two days ago because I heard the title story had a great twist. It really did, had no idea it was coming. Now reading the rest.

Reading this as research for the fantasy novel I just finished. It's great. Really in-depth about life in the 13th Century. I had no idea about half of it.

Back on Goodreads for the first time in a while, eh. Last May my family increased by one member - a very cute and boisterous one - so my free time kind of vanished. I've managed to keep writing in the cracks, and should have at least two more books out this year. Watch out!

I'm really enjoying this book so far and really interested to see what happens. It's brilliantly written but I was somewhat underwhelmed by the supposedly earth shattering twist. Of course, that's not the writer's fault but that of the endless hype that's been attached. It was one of about three likely outcomes so hardly came as a surprise. If you want good, unexpected twists read Jeffery Deaver.

Got a bit bogged down in the middle, but I've been kind of busy so not had much time to read of late.

Don Winslow is such an awesome writer. If I had a criticism it would be that there are just too many characters. The story is immense though.

Excellent stuff. Best book I've read in ages.

Been meaning to read this for years. My mother lives about five miles from the real Jamaica inn which is kind of cool.

Bleak but awesome. Very descriptive account of the long march through Siberia to the gulags. I'm actually reading this to research my next book and its perfect, although its pretty harrowing at times.
