With the political and religious depth and background and morally grey characters, this book feels much darker than my normal reads, but still enjoying it thus far.

Already completely immersed.

Why does the Ashen series audiobooks differ from the print and ebooks? Entire paragraphs are added to the audiobooks. Different titles, synonyms and adjectives are used .... I did not read all of book 1 or 2 immersive but it happens A LOT. It's pulls you out of the story an is annoying. I don't know which one to read print or audiobook. Seems like the audiobooks have the longer version.

Anybody else notice this?

Dnfed at 12% characters, dialogue was way too quirky ridiculous for me. Instead of being goofy I found this book to be irritating at the lack of care to the birds, and also going birding with servants is hardly "hard field work". This book was just not for me, but if you are feeling like a campy and ridiculous book this might be for you .

This book is insanely good I would rate 6 out of 5 stars if I could. I would recommend to EVERYONE. It is labeled as an epic fantasy, which I think fits but it is not hard to follow or painfully technical like some epics.

Antonia has built an immersive world, with characters you will root for others you may wish the worst, and with so many twists and turns it will have you hooked from the first page.

I am struggling to get through this book, does it have a profound ending? Everyone loves this book and this far, there are moments I love but the cohesiveness and the storytelling is hard to push through.

I guess today I am choosing to bawl my eyes out.

Starting to wonder if this may be my next DNF, not understanding the hype. The story is not making any sense. There is a Spartan population issue but sure let's have a death match where only the top 20% survive each year.... All but the main character is very 2 dimensional... Forced nudity and violence for no reason... Not seeing the appeal yet.

Reading under slight duress since I'm told I need to read this before reaping. Here we go!
