I see what the book is trying to get at, we all feel alienated and somehow manage to think we are unique in that. That others must have it easy, because else how could they get on? Ultimately we are all the same.
Ive heard the protagonist was supposed to be super depressing to read but so far he’s so annoying with all that “woe is me I’m so uniquely broken.”
