Reading this book has me thinking about what my parents, aunts, and uncles all went through as they immigrated from the Philippines to the US. They had the courage and bravery (or naivety) to leave everything they knew to come here and start over. It amazes me to think about how they did that, and the struggles they had to overcome to make it here.
