I absolutely hate the narrator for Sabrina's chapters. She talks like she's trying to hold in a mouthful of salad behind gritted teeth.

Most unrealistic part so far is the 3 year old who will apparently play by herself on a playground for 20 minutes, allowing her caregiver to have a very suspenseful conversation with another grown up 🥲😂

All these people are stupid and I love it

The world building borders on cartoonish to me, a cynic, but I'm having so much fun I don't seriously care.

I had high hopes for this as it seemed right up my alley - so far, it is absolutely delivering 😍

Major double take when I heard the line "but now she thinks about the family taint." Why did you write it that way Shari? Why??

Hard to listen to all of the characters being stupid, irrational, and psychopathic. I kind of hate this book because it's so grim. There's nothing hopeful anywhere. I don't even really want things to turn out well for Alice because she's a colossal idiot 🥴

Currently a disorienting mix of "no teenager talks like this," "this is healing part of my undiagnosed neurodivergent childhood trauma," and "what the fuck are these crazy people gonna do next?!?"
