I'm so annoyed that the main character keeps assuming traits of the customer service person on the train, Dorcas. Just because her name is Dorcas doesn't mean you know anything about her! Plus it reeks of the author trying to make Dorcas so ~folksy~ that the reader isn't supposed to suspect her. I'm like 25% hate-listening to this book so far.

I don't usually care if I guess the culprit right or not, but this time I did and I'm proud 💪

I stopped counting the number of pointless and irritating phrases like "if only I knew then that..." and "little did I know how true this would turn out to be" and "saying this would come back to haunt me" after the third time. I'm only 23% of the way in. You don't need to clickbait me into continuing the book.

If Morgan conveniently forgets to use the camera function on her binoculars a THIRD time, I'm going to riot.

These books are even weirder than I remember from my childhood, which is really saying something. I'm also finding the stories creepier and more unsettling as a 33 year old, versus just wacky and weird. Maybe I have too MUCH perspective now?! Anyway, even though this doesn't hit the same as it did, it's a fun listen while doing chores.
