Yeah so if I die this week know that midterms were the cause of my demise, but forgetting that I have to start Moby Dick — on top of every other 19th century novel I have to read this week — was the nail in the coffin

Yeahhhh, I see why this is people's least favorite Austen

This is the THIRD book I have started (for fun) in the last 3 weeks that began, on the very first page, with a dead or dying beached whale. I have no idea what that could possibly mean (like is it an omen???) but at this point it can’t just be coincidental because they were three of the most random books I could’ve read. Anyway…only found this because Jessie Buckley narrates it and I’m obsessed with her rn

Seriously don’t think I’ve ever been so invested in a book I’m reading for class. (Like, I’m reading ahead because I love it so much?!?) anyway, I hope Casaubon and his Thomas Aquinas ass rot in hell. And Ladislaw betrayed me and my girl Dorothea by HIDING THAT HES MARRIED (!?!) and I’m PISSED

LOVING this — feels like a 19th-century Downton. I hate Casaubon, feel bad for Dorothea, like Sir James but wish he wasn’t pulling a reverse Anthony Bridgerton, want more Will, am tired of Lydgate and annoyed that he led Rosamund on for so long, don’t know enough about Rosamund to have much of an opinion of her because most of her stuff is just about Lydgate, and weirdly loved the tiny glimpse of Mrs. Garth
