This book is great is almost every sense. The only thing really bothering me is that Noemi can't look at Francis without reminding us he's ugly and can't look at Virgil without saying he's handsome. We get it. It's being repeated too many times.

A few references to The Yellow Wallpaper so far. Excited to see where the author takes it.

The politics and conversations are so good! Chapter VIII was truly a wonder to read

End of ch 3 thoughts: Isn't it so funny how Hrathen seems to be a religious leader and yet his name is one letter away from "heathen" LMAO. I wonder if this means something. Idk if we're supposed to hate him but I liked his character in this 1st chapter. He seems to be more logical and ambitious than just plainly a religious fanatic. I'm sure there's more to be revealed though.

I actually don't know how to document my progress on this bc I have the tenth anniversary edition, so the % might be off bc I still want to log this cover on my Goodreads. Anyway i just finished ch 2 and hm isn't it so weird how Iadon's new government came to power 10 years ago at the same time the Elantrians got their curse hmmm weird so weird 🧐

Not even 2 chapters in and this whole thing with "getting hurt and feeling the pain forever with no relief" is already giving me MAJOR anxiety. Raoden stubbed his toe and now that pain is eternal? Damn. It's making me nervous for some reason. I guess I'm an empath

I'm not sure how I feel about this book. It isn't bad, but it's just not very interesting to me.

So I watched The Untamed, then read MDZS in october and all my reading plans went to shit. I can't read anything that isn't MDZS or MDZS fanfiction anymore. I'm a mess.

This is very heavy, and a little scary tbh. I'm very resistant to horror books and this is properly freaking me out in some places. It's like the quintessential haunted house story.

Despite a few questionable things that don't surprise me since this was written 50 years ago, it's actually really interesting so far. No spooky things yet though.

After the 200 page mark, now that pieces are falling together, I feel like I am enjoying this way more.

I feel weirdly detached from everyone in the watch who isn't Vimes... I wish we could see more from their point of view. The city watch books feel like just Vimes books.
