I’m only halfway through so far, and quickly losing interest. The plot is fast paced but there’s too much of that modern internal dialogue of “I killed all those people, I guess I had to, but it’s going to haunt me…” I mean, I get it, but it’s seemingly on every page and is getting tiresome. I’ll finish this one but who knows how much more endurance I have for this series.

Wow. I’m only 37% in and I love it. It’s so good. I think it helps that I lived in New England for almost 12 years and his imagery is spot on. But wow. A middle grade book that can touch on such a variety of deep issues in about 85 pages is quite impressive.
