its a long but strangely compelling read - building in tension - with the weight of its message

it's getting harder and harder to avoid the parallels with today - given that I did take this book with the advice that I would understand today better after reading it - that advice seems to have been right on the money...

gives you a lot to think about - I can feel the case being built - can see it reverberating in my today's world conscious I am liable to project this book onto Boris and Trump where I know its not as simple as that

Trying not to be seduced by the obvious parallels to my 2020 world ! Learning a lot.

utterly compelling - has you reflect on the sense of self you feel you have and then wonder where it comes from...

omg - but at the same time - you do know this is happening - you just don't appreciate how comprehensive or how deeply it all goes.

all will be well if everyone reads this book before voting

OK - I give up - if someone asked me what was going on in this book I would struggle to tell them - I have been compensating reading other books and they all have cogent narratives that engage the mind with - I find I prefer to lift them up and see this as a slog so - why bother - I will finish it and be none the wiser for it... I expect. So no... I'm beaten by postmodernism.

I am finding that I can read for an hour - comprehend the words on the page but be lost as to where they take me - its akin at times to being in a room full of people talking but not engaging in any one conversation - leaving me feeling somehow isolated and alone in the corner nursing my pint feeling like I'm missing something.
