an enjoyable read, but i was honestly expecting more. i was hoping for more of a homo-erotic rock & roll vibe but instead got co-dependency *trigger warning* ED logging and female sexual freedom with random men that ultimatelyt never felt fulfilling. the college timeline feels half-filled and i would've liked an update on cameron's role in khaki's life. i also found many typos while reading.

"the thing that irks me most is this shattered prison, after all... i'm wearying to escape into that glorious world, and to be always there: not seeing it dimly through tears, and yearning for it through the walls of an aching heart; but really with it, and in it" (p. 148)

i read this book for two reasons: 1) it's been on my tbr list for YEARS and 2) the upcoming emerald fennell adaptation
