Very much like the Original work « The Auction » I’m hoping for some new aspects to enhance interest.

I’m shocked by the manipulation of data in this book. The author constantly implies causation rather than correlation. For example he states that religious faith was linked to a healthier gut biome when instead there is a correlation there not a causation. Religion is often linked to lower level of stress and therefore lower cortisol. THAT is what makes the gut biome better.

I love the way magic is depicted in this book. It’s exactly how I believe magic would be used by humans; selfishly and only for those who can afford it.

Knowing the author is truly a Yake graduate, I wonder how much of this stuff is true vs fictionalized.

Some of this doesn’t make any sense to me and dosent even contribute much to the plot beside expanding on the notion that their world is diffrent then ours.

Context clues tell me Obi is trans.

I don’t understand how if the guy is part of Obi’s brain/imagination, how he’d able to know things that Obi doesn’t.

I love the art in this book and it’s such a unique concept. The only thing is I don’t understand why they call people with superpowers “ghosts”?

So many nicknames and code names to keep track of This is getting confusing

They’re performing a ritual in which they cut open a man in a gruesome way in order to…. predict the stock market? Weird.

was not expecting the F-slur from a random 11 year old but okay 😭

14 pages in and I already hate the MC. 🤩 Talent!!! 🙄

So far this writing seems severely underdeveloped. There’s lots of paragraphs that don’t fit, or completely distracted from the main plot line. This kind of writing makes a book difficult to read.

Im loving the concept of this book. In the beginning there was a large amount of charecters it produced very quickly and it was hard to keep them all straight. I ended up having to flip back and forth a bit for clarification. The first story was rather short but cute. It felt like a precursor for the upcoming storyline. I actually like all the rules of the cafe. It makes it more thrilling and authentic.

I love the characters so much. the writhing is so personable and the description of mental illness feels real and raw.

First chapter was very interesting and complex.
Second chapter reveled that the author has some deeply rooted issues with women. His rants and raves about women and their high standards and how men are not enough spans roughly three pages. It has nothing to do with the point.

“You are not responsible for saving the world if you are struggling to save yourself l.”

“But keeping everything done isn’t the point. Keeping things functional is the point.”

“anything worth doing is worth doing partially”

“Her belief that the decision to be a positive person was the key to her joyful life reveals she really does not grasp just how much of her success is due to privilege beyond her control.”

“Next time you are trying to talk yourself into doing a care task, what would it be like to replace the voice that says, “Ugh, I should really go clean my house right now because it’s such a disaster,” with “It would be such a kindness to future me if I were to get up right now and do ——. That task will allow me to experience comfort, convenience and pleasure latter.”

How are you going to have a character who is advocating for recovery and watching the terrible effects of a drug addiction, turn around and do drugs with those same people.
