Really enjoying reading this. Can't believe I'm reading a novel about shooting pool. The characterization is outstanding.

I'm not making a great deal of progress. I've read the novel before and don't find it strong enough for a second reading. I just wanted to match it up with the autobiography of Helen Corke who allowed Lawrence to use her life story to inspire his novel.

This autobiography is remarkably good. Helen Corke has an amazing recall of childhood experiences and her later accounts of life in a Victorian elementary school are outstanding.

This autobiography is out of print and I'm reading a second hand copy published in 1975. Helen Corke is interesting because DH Lawrence based his second novel, The Trespassers on part of Helen's life story.

I've read Act 1. Surprised at how much I can remember from school days.

I'm enjoying Hag Seed but have stopped reading in order to re-visit The Tempest which I studied for A level Eng Lit but can't remember too well.
